The Beginning
I was playing with my new rubber stamp designs and liked the way this saying worked. It was one that a friend of mine, Janice passed along. Good thought huh?

Promises that dont fade
A Mother's Promise
I feel your small hand
clasped in mine
tight and trusting
that I will lead you
upon life's path
sure and true
but I cannot promise
where it will take you
only that..
for as long as I am able
I will watch over you
and love you
keeping your travels
along life's unpredictable road
as smooth and calm as I can
shield you from pain and
sorrow along your way
share your moments of joy
and laughter
and show you how to love...
so that the light that shines
in your eyes
and glows in your heart
will never be dimmed by
the tribulations of your journey
but keep you strong and
nurture you as you grow
this I promise....

Feeling Groovy
I've recently become enthralled with Illustrator, as much as Photoshop and as I am also thoroughly "into" the retro look, playing with the Groovy flower thing seemed like a natural place to go.
I should be busy designing stamps, but there is something to be said for Flower Power and the enjoyment of being back in front of my own computer again.
London Walk
Well I am back safe and sound in the Northern Hemisphere. Travelling is not much fun these days...
Anyway, despite all the recent dramas and some trepidation at visiting, I had a good time in London.
This is a composite of a few of the pics I took while I was there.

Amity Angel
This is the helm piece on the Brig Amity by the foreshore in Ablany. She is really rather lovely...probably has a name. I'll have to find out.
Sunday Afternoon
Enjoying the last of a sunny day with the boys down by the Brig Amity.
They go back to school this week and I will be heading back to the other side of the world - yep..sniff sniff.

Classified View
And here's another... this one though seems to speak to me of London and my contemplations at being there sometime next week.
Altered Vision
When I can snag five consecutive minutes on my son's computer I can feed the pixel fever. I dont think there is anything deep and meaningful in the recent uploads with heads floating about the place - though you never know!!

Up a Gum Tree
The photo's of a tree snapped in the middle of Perth city a couple of days ago. I've Photoshopped it to change the colours and contrasts just for fun, but the orginal was taken on a clear blue sky day in the middle of winter. I've no idea why it has no leaves, as it seems to have the skin of a gum tree - strange but true.

Painted Lady
Ages ago I painted a whole bunch of smeary background stuff. Today I scanned it into the puter and used it to cut and paste fill the face.
Growth
The first day in ages where I did not have to rush off and do anything and it was wet and rainy enough for me to be content to stay indoors and "create" something.

The Pink Postcard Series
I finally got around to scanning these. I made them when I was messing around the other night - hiding from seven noisy boys having a sleepover. I took refuge in the dining room and made a few postcards with whatever I could put my hands on without venturing into their space. I am not sure that my little 20year old sewing machine was that thrilled about chewing through paper, but it did it anyway!
Morning over the Kalgan
This picture is taken a few minutes away from where the boy's school is situated, overlooking Oyster Harbour and from the banks of the Kalgan River.
Middleton Beach
Walking on Sunshine!!...
Five minutes from my house and I am in heaven!...or my earthly version of it.

Facing Eve
Rainy day digital art play using some bits taken off a stock photo site. Not very thrilling, but it will do for now.
I had high hopes of doing something creative and mindboggling today, but that did not happen. I am not sure where the day went, but somehow inbetween breakfast and dinner it disappeared.
and...the ''eternal muse" seems to be taking her time to wake up. I have a lot of ideas in my head, but none that really want to some out on paper.
I think I am still going through personal PC withdrawl.
Dream Universe
Well I have not disappeared off the planet, merely changed perspectives and am now writing from my cozy work room all the way 'downunder'.
Since I dont have all my software or regular PC, this is a bit of an experiment in getting artwork posted to my Blog. Flikr seems to do the trick and I dont have to install more software on my dear son's new 'puter which is a good thing.
It was lovely and sunny today. The first break from rainy wet stuff more or less since I got here. The change was nice and so was not having to wash or dry the complete school outfits of two small men overnight.
I dont think we will be quite so lucky with the sunshine tomorrow. Well off to bed said "Zeberdee" (for those of you who ever watched the Magic Roundabout)!

Art For The Day
I finished a bunch of trading cards for a Grunge theme today. I also got around to taking a picture of the latest piece of assemblage that I finished a few days ago. It looks a whole lot better in the shadow box that it lives in, but you get the idea.
I also fiddled a bit with new pics for the website. I have only loaded a new face page, the rest will come in time.
...stay tuned!

Impulse V Compulsion
Without too much aforethought I concocted a digital label for a collaborative CD music project that I am working on (nope you cant see that! :-) ). I finished yet another 3D assemblage piece which I will take pictures of when it's dry and standable uppable! And lastly, but not least, finished #2 in my series of Vintage Grunge.
Although I was compelled to do some laundry, I think the impulsive side won out yet again.
Who is surprised? Not me.

Focus!! What focus?
The first one is pretty well finished. The second one is well on the way and is at present drying outside in the Carolina sunshine.
I wonder what particular fascination tomorrow will bring?

Digital Therapy
Time for bed. Nothing like a bit of digital therapy to soothe the soul before you go to sleep. I love the challenge of mixing and matching images. It's almost the reverse of doing a jigsaw puzzle as you create the work out of pieces, but it is you who has to find the base images to work with and you have no idea what the picture will turn out like until it's finished (for me anyway). Very soothing as I really think of nothing else until the last pixel is pushed into place.
Ciao for today.

I am attempting to do the 'assemblage" thing. You can probably find ten good friends who will say that I dont "do" this...but perhaps I do now.
This was the first in a number of three that I did over the weekend. Perhaps my new passion will be sourcing wellpriced junk to add to my already burgeoning collection of doodads!
